Fanvid of the week #6: Jejoongwon

Thanks to Thundie’s recommendation, I finally ended up checking out the criminally underrated medical sageuk drama, Jejoongwon (SBS, 2010). I had faith in her taste, but never did I foresee the extent to which I would come to fall in love with this drama or how Hwang Jung (portrayed brilliantly by Park Yong Woo) would creep into my heart and steal it. There aren’t many fan-made videos available for Jejoongwon, but I thought these two in particular showcased the undeniable chemistry between Park Yong Woo and Han Hye Jin, and offered a glimpse of the heartachingly beautiful love story between their respective characters, Hwang Jung and Yu Suk Ran.

welcome to the club, blue! i watched this after thundie’s post and i love it!
pyw is indeed awesome as hwang jung.

Oh, blue, what a delightful surprise! Love both fanvids; seeing Hwang Jung’s battered face in the second clip made me teary. One of the most unforgettable characters in a kdrama ever.

Agree with you that Jejoongwon is so criminally underrated. We need to keep spreading the word!

I second this since i caught abt 5 episodes and in the process of dl 3 more. Bloody hell i am so late to the game on this one.

I’m honored to be a part of this small, elite club! (All thanks to thundie!)

Bella, hurry and come join us! Hopefully many others will also follow suit.

That said, I need some self-control from watching and re-watching certain scenes from the drama over and over again. I think I must have even memorized the lines.

Jejoongwon is one of my all-time favorite dramas. I loved Hwang Jung and Yu Suk Ran as individual characters and also as a couple. So glad that you like JJW too, blue!

This fanvid is really nice, love all the outfits of HHJ, sooo traditionally beautifully. Did you ever wear this kind of thing B-B?

Let me share this with you, checked a bit of SIGN finale…Buahahahahhaha insane.

    • blue says:

I did own a couple of hanboks growing up, but none as beautiful as the ones worn by HHJ.

Ahh, Sign was a psycho drama, right up to the end. And I started it anticipating something so much better.

    • Bella says:

      Hola hola,
I had a few growing up but definitely not as beautiful as the ones nowadays. There really was never an occasion to wear them either but I do plan to get one when I go back to Korea this year. That is item#29 on the list.

As for Sign- I was cracking up non-stop over the botched ending job and I thought the ‘concert’ for Secret Garden was bad!

Dear B&B, cuz of you I checked ep1 and found it to be promising and sentimental to watch, though the male lead’s acting is not a kind you will fall in love at first sight, but later he grows on you. Spoiler ahead, I admit closing my eyes when he knocked the cow down and I got stuck at blood and stitches of the Japanese doc’s procedures , 36 eppies are quite long for me but I got the tone and agreed with you that it is a drama worth watching.

May I ask how much does one exquisite hanbok cost in USD? It looks like you need lots of material to make one.

      • blue says:

        @kcomments,
The cost of a hanbok varies greatly, and is comparable to that of evening dresses in the U.S. You can get one for as low as $50, whereas the more decent ones cost closer to around $100-$200. I think most people would agree that you would be able to find any hanbok of your choice, tailored specifically for you, for under $400. But of course, if you’re going for a designer hanbok from a more well-known hanbok designer, you can expect to spend in the upper hundreds to even in the thousands.

My Jejoongwon radar just went off, alerting me to a super meaty post on this gem. I come here but there’s nothing, waaaahhhhh!!!
