  1. sandy says:

I am not interested in korean awards cause they are known to be utterly commercial and has nothing to do with whats really good like for ex the critically acclaimed dramas of last year were comrades / harvest villa /Secret Investigation Record and giant really thOSE nominationS ARE a joke and what about the popularity award I mean Nam Gyu Ri !! SERIOUSLY READING THIS STUFF MAKES ME FEEL SORRY FOR THE TALENTED PPL IN KOREA

    • blue says:

True, but the secret to enjoying these award ceremonies is to not take them too seriously. Some projects that really deserve to win (or at the very least get nominated) get snubbed, but at other times, they win too. Harvest Villa and Secret Investigation Record had zero chance of getting nominated because they’re cable shows, unfortunately. I haven’t watched Comrades, but I’ve heard good things about it, and if it’s as good as everyone says it is, it’s really unfortunate that it didn’t have high enough ratings to get the nod it deserves. Personally, I’m most upset that Jejoongwon (and Park Yong Woo!!!) got snubbed by all the awards shows it was eligible for (SBS Awards and Baeksang), but otherwise, the nomination list this year doesn’t look too bad honestly. There are a couple of outliers nominated, but they have no chance of winning anyway. (Well, at least they better not!) Now as long as Baker King and Han Hyo Joo don’t win anything, I’d call it a satisfactory Baeksang year. =)

      • kcomments says:

PYW too! *just finished JJW again today for the …times*
Baker King?HHJ?Why do I have to go through this again?

  2. supah says:

These are an absolute Joke! I’ve already ranted about them. 2010 was a solid year for kdrama, so what are all these? It’s clear they only went for the ratings-cinchers. And I thought the individual broadcaster awards earlier were a joke, but the Baeksangs have gone and outdone even those.
Only Giant stands out, the rest are mockworthy. It would be fair if Giant had some healthy competition with other solid shows like say, Comrades, Joseon X-Files… I’ve heard Jejoongwon was solid too, and that’s also been snubbed.

And where is the child actor category? Is there none?
That’s it, I’m going to go into a little corner and wail my heart out for Yeo Jin-gu.

    • blue says:

No, there’s no child actor category for Baeksang. But speaking of YJG, he and Nam Ji Hyun will be reuniting to play the children version of the main leads in Warrior Baek Dong Soo. Thought you’d appreciate it! =)

      • supah says:

        OMG!! *screeams*
        *Runs across room arms flailing*

I can’t even begin to explain how happy you’ve just made me!

  3. couchkimchi says:

I just have one pick.. I hope KIM SOO HYUN wins for BEST NEW ACTOR.. he deserves it!!

    • deedrama says:

Nope! Park Yoo Chun! Park Yoo Chun! Park Yoo Chun! 🙂
My fangirlness said Park Yoo Chun, though Kim Soo Hyun was doing awesome in Dream High.
So : heart says Park Yoo Chun, brain says Kim Soo Hyun. But arm dan leg says JYP. He was doing great on MC Hammer’s style and the Data’s scanning.

    • blue says:

Hmm, I do think Kim Soo Hyun is a better actor than Micky, but I was more impressed with Micky’s performance in SKKS than KSH’s in Dream High.

Now, if Kim Soo Hyun was nominated for his role in Giant, that would be a whole another story.

  4. kcomments says:

The fact that SKKS is nominated in more than one category, I’m quite satisfied. Me too with Micky. The Scriptwriting, I was kind of hope for SKKS to get nominated but oh well, and PYW in Jejoongwon deserves reconition too. I searched for awards on Jejoongwon, to my surprise, there was none so far. T_T

  5. D says:

if Hyun Bin doesn’t get that popularity award, I’m a shoe…..lol…like that a serious given since they simply refuse to let go of the guy even after he’s entered his MS…what with that documentary and even talking about what he does there even now…..as a Binnie fan I’m really miffed that they wont let him do his MS in peace

  6. ripgal says:

    Not feeling the drama sections.
Rooting for Ha Jung Woo in whatever he’s in! =D

  7. Kichie says:

GOOO MICKY YOU’RE SO FINE YOU BLOW MY MIND. GO MICKY! YEP YEP! LOL

  8. adele says:

    I want Ha ji Won ?? :)))

  9. eshi says:

if baker king wins best drama, best script or best actor…im going to hit something…..jeez it was so bad and yes i watched it!…..i cant believe yoo ah in wasn’t nominated for anything….and giant thoroughly deserves each category it was nominated for

and though i love HHJ and can call myself her fan…..i dnt think she should win best actress….shes got a way to go yet
